What's the Word?
Course Results
Winston High School, Dallas, Texas
Winston is a private school for students with learning disabilities. The post-test was administered after finals, and the students had to return to school to take the test. Results were excellent for students with learning differences. The school now uses What's the Word? for grades 9-12.

Rita J. Sherbenou, Head of School (since retired):
"What’s the Word? has proven to be a great program for our students with learning differences. The combination of video, worksheets and flashcards really seems to reinforce concepts for our students. We had an average 20% increase in student performance within 10 weeks of using the program. The students enjoyed the 10-15 minutes spent each day on the program and retained the knowledge gained. Our skepticism about the benefits of the program with students who have learning differences has turned into very strong support. We will budget for use of the program in grades 9-12 for the future!"

James Neve, Teacher:
"What’s the Word? works well because it has the kind of cognitive indexing and context clues my students can readily use. The flashcards were an especially beneficial tool. We saw a definite improvement in vocabulary test scores."

Lauren B., Student,:
"...You help me very well in my vocab words. ...Thank you for the funny video programs."
